Abstract

Utopias and UTOPIAnism is one of the concepts that is concomitant with the birth of human mind and many scholars attempted to formulate and express their own interpretation of favorite golden age and focused on it. Among them, THOMAS MOORE's UTOPIA has a special place because since the Renaissance, it is the first UTOPIA that is drawn to the influence of humanism and focused on many areas of human life, including economic, political, social aspects.This paper discusses the values of UTOPIA THOMAS MOORE about human dignity in critical light, contending that although it seeks to provide a model for human dignity this mission is not fully accomplished, in fact. Even more, a false impression of the reality of human has been sought in THOMAS MOORE's UTOPIA due to its refuge in a mental cage, and therefore that UTOPIAn thinking drawn only from human reason may not be able to provide a comprehensive model for human dignity and the right model can be only considered in light of teachings from divine revelations and that human dignity can be full achieved in a UTOPIA drawn by Mahdism.
