Abstract

animation Ben 10 is one of the most successful series produced for children. The series that with its high-sales have superiority to the audience, is the story of a white American boy who accidentally finds a watch on a family trip which allows him to transform into ten different alien creatures. Films and media products contain the symbolic, cultural and social implications of the dominant social culture, therefore, they can be the source of research that has a critical attitude towards such texts. Postcolonial criticism can be a case among the studies based on this approache. Postcolonial theory and critique, which is based on the analysis of targeted texts, seeks the textual dual elements that can create the theme that maks “ The Other” . Edward Said argued that the audience reacts to these dual themes, when it comes to choosing one of those. The paper based on this theoretical framework is to seek these themes making “ The Other” , using deep analysis of the inner textual codes by the Fisk and Bart method. It eventually shows how to create “ Me” and “ The Other” processes.
