Abstract

The purpose of the present research is to study the effectiveness of training PROBLEM-SOLVING SKILLS on students’ SELF-EFFICACY. The population of the research consisted of all female high school students of Rasht city. Sample size was determined according to the scientific principles and formula of sample size estimate. The sample consisted of 30 students (experimental group 15 students and control group 15 students) who were selected through multi-stage random sampling. Research design was experimental (pretest-posttest with control group). PROBLEM-SOLVING SKILLS were trained to the students in experimental group for 8 sessions each lasting 2 hours. The research instrument was Sherer’s SELF-EFFICACY Scale. T-test and analysis of covariance were used to analyze the data. The findings indicated that SELF-EFFICACY of students who received problem-solving training is more than that of the students who did not received training. Also, the SELF-EFFICACY of students shows appropriate stability during this time.
