Abstract

The aim of the present study was to investigate the relationships between self-esteem, MARITAL RELATIONSHIP and components of HAPPINESS (consists of POSITIVE AFFECT, NEGATIVE AFFECT and life-satisfaction), in married WOMEN. The 97 WOMEN were tested using the Rosenberg Self-Esteem Questionnaire (Barrow, 2007), MARITAL RELATIONSHIP Questionnaire (Khayyer and Samani, 2003), Positive and NEGATIVE AFFECT Scale (Watson, Clark & Tellegen, 1988), and Satisfaction with Life Scale (SWLS) (Diener, Emmons, Larens, & Griffin, 1985). Multiple regression analysis revealed that scores of MARITAL RELATIONSHIP predict married WOMEN's LIFE SATISFACTION (b=0.79, P<0.0001) and NEGATIVE AFFECT (b=-0.50, P<0.0001) In addition, POSITIVE AFFECT in married WOMEN was predicted by the scores of self-esteem (b=0.45, P<0.0001).
