Abstract

According to the Structure of education system, the universities accept non-native students who need accommodations. Only a few studies have investigated the problems of residents of dormitories. One of the problems is SELF-alienation. The aim of this study is investigating the of level of SELF- ALIENATION among girl students in a DORMITORY and effect of life satisfaction on that. The population is female students of DORMITORY at Isfahan University. According to Cochran formula the number of sample was estimated 330 people. The method of sampling is random stratified. The questionnaire was used to measure the variables. The face validity was considered as validity of research. reliability was calculated by Cronbach's alpha coefficients for variables of ALIENATION and life satisfaction that these coefficients were 849.0 and 768.0 respectively The result showed that the level of SELF- ALIENATION of 11.3 percent of students is low, 62.7 percent of them is medium and 26 percent of them is high. Also the result showed that variable of satisfaction with DORMITORY life have negative relationship with SELF- ALIENATION and its dimensions. This means that the increase in satisfaction with DORMITORY life decreases the amount of SELF-alienation of student and its dimensions SENSE OF LACK OF BELONGING, a SENSE OF EMPTINESS AND MEANINGLESSNESS, a sense of stay away from values and Community opposition).
