Abstract

ODAY Ibn Zeid Ebadi lived during the reign of KHOSRO Parviz and was a contemporary of NAAMAN. He had a controversial life. On one hand he was living in pleasure & drinking and on the other hand he was a poet, a literary man and a politician. He is known for philosophical poetry. He reached high status in two imperial courts but conspiracies of envious enemies finally caused him imprisonment by NAAMAN. This event has been mentioned in many books such as Al-Aqani, Mojam al-Adebaa val-Jomherah and al-Sher val-Shoara. Although ODAY lived in dark ages he was an affectionate and kind poet.
