Abstract

The Socio-Political Upheavals which are still unfolding in the Middle Eastern nations since 2010 began with the objective of changing the previously held relation between government and societies. Generic and undemocratic identity these people from looking for an open society. However, the process of globalization and the explosion of mass communication apparently have helped these people to look for a new identity that helps them become active in sociopolitical developments and to spearhead the needed socio-political changes. So, in this paper it is tried to employ Alexander theory of Constructivism and Generic Identity in explaining the conditions which led to the Socio-Political Upheaval in the nations of North Africa and the Middle Eastern countries since2010.
