Abstract

the purpose of this study was done to explore the correlation between BODY MANAGEMENT, BODY IMAGE and SELF CONCEPT. Statistical population of this research was all students of Sistan and Baluchestan University, 385 students (190 female and 195 male who were selected through a multi-stage cluster. The participants were asked to complete the BODY MANAGEMENT, multidimensional body–self relations questionnaire: MBSRQ (Cash, 1997), and Rogers's self-concept Scales (1951). Results analysis, using Pearson Correlation test, revealed a significant negative relationship (P<0.01) between BODY MANAGEMENT and BODY IMAGE and its dimensions; appearance evaluation, appearance orientation, fitness evaluation, fitness orientation, and a positive correlation was found with body areas satisfaction. Additionally, there was a significant positive correlation (P<0.01) between BODY MANAGEMENT and positive SELF CONCEPT.Findings of this research focus on the role of BODY IMAGE and SELF CONCEPT in BODY MANAGEMENT behaviors of individuals.
