Abstract

Raven\s progressive matrices test is a reliable and valid INTELLIGENCE TEST for mental testing and general intelligence. The advanced form (APM) of test was made for measuring the mind ability of superior and gifted people. The aim of this study was to test the RELIABILITY and VALIDITY of this instrument for INTELLIGENCE TESTing in undergraduate student, and make a norm table of intelligence quotient (IQ). A randomized sample (n=707) of undergraduate students of Islamic Azad university (khorasgan branch) population were selected and were tested, results showed that:1- The advanced form of RAVEN'S PROGRESSIVE MATRICES (APM) test had significant RELIABILITY and VALIDITY (P<0.01) for measuring intelligence of undergraduates.2- Distribution of raw scores in this study was normal, therefore, we can obtain z scores (standard score) and compute IQ scores according to Wechsler scale (m=100, s=15).3- results showed no significant difference between male and female.4- Different ages showed no significance differences after 18 years old.
