Abstract

The purpose of this study was to compare attachment style in ADOLESCENCE with MENTAL RETARDATION and normal ADOLESCENCEs in Tehran. The sample consisted of 118 students with mentally retardation (57 girl, 61 boy) and 132 normal student (64 girl, 68 boy) were selected through multi- stage sampling method from the student of school in Tehran. For data collection, Questionnaire of attachment of Collins and read and researcher made questionnaire were used. Data analysis showed that attachment style in students with MENTAL RETARDATION were more avoidant and ambivalent, (p<0/001) whereas, attachment style in normal student were more secure and less avoidant and ambivalent (p<0/001).
