NUMERICAL SOLUTION OF TWO-DIMENSIONAL STEADY CONDUCTION BY RELAXATION METHOD

Abstract

 The goal of present work is the study of two dimensional STEADY STATE heat transfer inorder to introduce a NUMERICAL METHOD based on finite difference methode for solving some Industrial problems.In this method a suitable mesh consisting of square elements should be applied to the selected region, and then initial temperatures of nod points are guessed using interpolation techniques. Using RELAXATION operator, the guessed temperatures are corrected in an iterative procedure to minimize the total sum of nods temperatures. In this work, first a mesh with square shaped elements is applied to the region and then to increase the precision of calculations, mesh elements are replaced with 45 degree rotated ones. Using this technique makes it possible to use previous data points and decrease calculations time.
