Abstract

The present survey aims to discover the problems encountered by FEMALE STUDENTS residing in the DORMITORY of District 12 of the ISLAMIC AZAD UNIVERSITY. This survey takes into account the socio-academic problems in terms of variable factors (age, average marks of the passed subjects, being put under condition (mashrout), number of terms using the dorm, locality of the dorm, study subject, hometown of parents, and the number of students in a room at dorm). The statistic population for the survey consists of the total number of FEMALE STUDENTS residing in dormitories in district 12 of ISLAMIC AZAD UNIVERSITY who were students in the academic year 1386-87 (2007-8) totalling 5, 285, of which 250 students were selected for statistical sample survey. For this study, which is of the descriptive type in survey method, the required information has been gathered by questionnaires. Subsequently, the data collected were analyzed through the following tests: descriptive and inference statistics, two- dimensional tables and sketches, significance of Pearson correlation, T-test, one-way analysis of variance test, Post Hoc Test and Scheffe Test.The analysis indicated a significant link with a 95%degree of certainty between the students’ average marks, being put under condition, DORMITORY location, parents’ town of residence and the number of students sharing a DORMITORY room, and socio-academic problems of students.
