THE RELATIONSHIP OF SOCIAL INTELLIGENCE TO ENTREPRENEURSHIP SKILLS AND CREATIVITY AMONG TECHNICAL HIGH SCHOOL STUDENTS IN SHIRAZ

Abstract

 This correlational study aimed to investigate the relationship of SOCIAL INTELLIGENCE to ENTREPRENEURSHIP SKILLS and CREATIVITY. A total of 240 students was selected from among Shiraz TECHNICAL HIGH SCHOOL STUDENTS through stage cluster sampling method. Three questionnaires of SOCIAL INTELLIGENCE (Tromoso, 2001), ENTREPRENEURSHIP SKILLS (Biech, 2007) and CREATIVITY (Abdi, 1993) were employed to collect data. Their Cronbach's alphas were 0.72, 0.85 and 0.89 respectively. Data analyses involved both descriptive statistics (mean and SO) and inferential statistics (Pearson correlation and regression). The results revealed that SOCIAL INTELLIGENCE of the students was significantly and positively correlated to their ENTREPRENEURSHIP SKILLS and CREATIVITY. Regression analysis further suggested that it could account significantly for the students' ENTREPRENEURSHIP SKILLS and CREATIVITY. From among the components of SOCIAL INTELLIGENCE, social awareness, and information processing and social skills could best predict CREATIVITY and ENTREPRENEURSHIP SKILLS respectively.
