THE EFFETIVENESS OF FERNALD'S MULTI- SENSORY TRAINING ON DYSGRAPHIA AND DICTATION IN SECOND GRADE PRIMARY STUDENTS

Abstract

 The purpose of this research was to study the effectiveness of Fernald's Multi- Sensory training on DYSGRAPHIA and DICTATION in second grade primary students. Method: 24 students identified by the teacher and the DICTATION pre -test and hand writing check list were selected and assigned to two groups: experimental and control groups. The experimental group received 10 session of Fernald training. The control group received no treatment. The instruments used for selecting the sample were researcher- made DICTATION test, handwriting check list and Cattle Intelligence Test. The results of analysis of covariance showed that The mean of DYSGRAPHIA scores of experimental group was significantly lower than the mean of DYSGRAPHIA scores of control group (p<0.01). Also, the results showed that the mean of DICTATION scores of experimental group was significantly higher than the mean of DICTATION scores of control group (p<0.01). This study concluded that the Fernald's Multi- Sensory training is effective in improvement of DYSGRAPHIA and DICTATION in primary school students.
