Abstract

 The present study was conducted to predict the academic achievements of Ahvaz University students based on their IQ, EDUCATIONAL EXPERIENCEs and DEMOGRAPHIC VARIABLES. The sample population was taken from Ahvaz universities. The sample group of the study consisted of 928 students selected from 5 universities chosen from the above mentioned population by random selection method, multi stage sampling. The instruments used to collect data consisted of a questionnaire interrogating the participants about their DEMOGRAPHIC VARIABLES which was developed and standardized by the researcher and Raven IQ test. The result of stepwise multivariate regression indicated that high school grade point average and the students' university entrance examination rank variables emerged as the most significant direct predictors for academic average score, respectively. However, it was concluded that no meaningful relation could be found among gender, being native or non-native, marital status, living in dormitory or not, occupation status, level of salary and IQ with students' academic grade point average.
