Abstract

EPIC is an outstanding literary genre concerned with war and heroism which encourages warriors to battle. Today, however, man has made great progressions and developed organizations like The United Nations to establish conversation and peace among peoples. This study, therefore, attempts to justify composing EPICs in contemporary time.It is understood that EPIC poetry does not concern war only; in other words it includes other concepts such as: nationalism, heroism, teaching generosity, opposing enmity and identity making.
