Abstract

 The purpose of this research was to compare the effectiveness of three instructional methods, lecture, group discussion and educational package on the degree of awareness of high school male STUDENTS’ drug abuse in Tabriz in 2012.There fore, were a random sample of 119 STUDENTS, from four male schools inside Tabriz were selected, 86 of whom were put in experimental group, and the other 33 in control group. First, four group were asked to fill in the researcher questionnaire as the initial pretest. Next step was to get the experimental STUDENTS to take a six-session addiction prevention course. The control group, on the other hand, was to live their regular daily lives. Filling in the questionnaires again as a post-test was what four groups were asked to do, the data of which was analyzed with spss. The data were analyzed using Covariance and bonferroni pairwise comparisons. The final results showed that training group discussion, lecture and educational package had a profound positive influence on the STUDENTS. And group discussion method had increased significantly in comparison with the lecture and educational package groups on the STUDENTS.
