Abstract

This study aimed at comparing CHILDREN'S BEHAVIORAL PROBLEMS among mothers with high and low emotional intelligence. The research method was causal-comparative. The statistical population included 386 elementary students' mothers out of which 200 mothers (100 with high and 100 with low emotional intelligence) among 30 to 45 years old selected as the sample size. The sampling method was criterion sampling. To gather the data, two measures were used, namely Quay and Peterson revised behavioral problems checklist (RBPC), and sheering emotional intelligence questionnaire. To analyses the data the independent t-test was used. Results of the independent t-test demonstrated that the mean behavioral problems (conduct disorder, social aggression, attention-immaturity problems, anxiety-withdrawal) in students with high emotional intelligence mother were lower than students with low emotional intelligence mother (p<0.01). Girls scores in behavioral problems (conduct disorder, social aggression, attention-immaturity problems, withdrawal) were less than that of the boys (p<0.05).
