THE STUDY ON THE METHODS OF NON MONOTONOUS REPETITION OF HUMAN FIGURES ON FABRICS DURING SAFAVID ERA IN YAZD

Abstract

 The sparkling art of weaving during SAFAVID ERA is beholden to the artist's intelligence, knowledge and creativity which could use new and numerous aesthetic viewpoints in their relic.This research has been done to study on the most important methods of avoiding repetitive image of human in fabric designing during SAFAVID ERA in Yazd. Though by collecting and studying on the illustrations of these fabrics, a comparison of their patterns was done and it was determined that Yazd designers and weavers with the influence of schools of Tabriz and Esfahan, used different methods in order to avoid repetitive image of human in production of fabrics such as satin, velvet and silk.Fabric designers tried cloaking the human figure by three basic methods and some compound ones and they borrowed the aesthetic features from outstanding Safavid painters.Fabric weavers also used different weaving traits, intermittent and regular repetitions as visually attractive features.
