Abstract

Prevention is one of the fundamental POLICIES and actions in the field of social control. Today, PREVENTION has got a new meaning, including all strategies that prevent from CRIME and offence in the mind of the criminal and structure of society. PREVENTION means the precedent policy toward post policy (criminal PREVENTION) which mainly focuses on punishment. It is more effective and efficient and is more economic, social and cultural point of view.This article focuses on the situational CRIME PREVENTION and argues that the focus of CRIME control should be preventative (before CRIME takes place). This article emphasis on three distinct strategies in limiting opportunities to commit CRIME:1. Increasing the effort to commit CRIME (e.g. steering locks on cars, fenced yards, ill badges)2. Increasing the risks to commit CRIME (various forms of surveillance, e.g. burglar alarms, speed cameras, surveillance cameras, security guards, street lightning)3. Reducing the reward of CRIME. Also, this article pay attention to three priorities which are institutional development, diminish and reducing opportunities of CRIME and changing social values which are introduced in the form of practical strategies and executive PROGRAMmers.
