Abstract

Background and objectives: Evaluating the effectiveness is one of the most important mechanisms for quality assurance in education. The purpose of the research is to evaluate the effectiveness of the TRAINING COURSE in police operations.Methodology: The research method is of a descriptive survey type. The statistical population included all the students of police operations TRAINING COURSE (N=362). The statistical population also consisted of commanders and immediate directors of the workplace and specialized groups. To select the statistical sample, a stratified random sampling method and a sample size estimate table of Morgan were employed. The sample size of the students is 186, and the sample size of the commanders and immediate directors is equal to the size of the population. The research instruments were the measurement of researcher-made questionnaires and learners' academic records. Descriptive statistics, Kolmogorov-Smirnov test and one-sample T-test were employed to analyze the data.Findings and results: The findings showed that the students' reaction to the curriculum was usual. The highest level of specialized learning is related to personal defense lessons and the least is related to the course of criminal procedure and the mean score of specialized courses are 16.86. The highest level of general learning is related to the principles of LAW ENFORCEMENT affairs and the least level is related to map reading, compass, and working with GPS. Overall, the mean score of the general lessons was 16.62. From the viewpoint of students and commanders, the level of participants' behavior is moderate. By targeting different models of EVALUATION of the effectiveness, including Patrick's model, it is possible to rethink, recreate, and reform the course of the police operations training programs.
