Abstract

Every year more than 30 percent of agricultural production is being wasted. In order to reduce the waste and to increase production of WHEAT, Ministry of Jihad Agriculture started a program to hire university graduated students to work as FARM ADVISORS and train farmers the methods to reduce waste. The major purpose of this study was to examine the knowledge level of FARM ADVISORS about waste in Production of WHEAT in the QAZVIN PROVINCE. The population for the study was 112 FARM ADVISORS in the QAZVIN PROVINCE and data collected by using questionnaires. The data was analyzed by using statistical methods in SPSS. The results show that lake of knowledge about water needs were the main factor in causing waste. The respondent also indicated, the seed treatment and threshing and using the new methods of irrigation of WHEAT were the main methods to reduce the waste.
