Abstract

Introduction: Physical and psychological side-effects of chemical warfare on victims have been shown in several studies, we established this study to compare psychological disorders among FAMILY and households of CHEMICAL WARFARE VICTIMS.Methods: All FAMILY members of victims of SARDASHT chemical warfare attack and systematic randomized adjusted people without direct damages of chemical attacks in the same region entered into the study. Mental disorders such as DEPRESSION, ANXIETY and stress evaluate by DEPRESSION, ANXIETY and Stress Scale (DASS). We used Chi square and t test, to analyze variables.Results: DEPRESSION, ANXIETY and stress rates were considerably frequent among victims' wives than adjusted controls; mentioned disorders were prevalent among children too. (P<.005) But no significant differences were seen between mothers and children in separate groups. (P>.05) Discution: Results show higher mental disorders among victims' families.Although psychological problems are frequent in peoples who live in war region without direct chemical damages too.
