Abstract

In this study, the correlation research method was used. The statistical society included all students (2500) in Salmas branch studying in 88-89 academic year. The sample (335) was selected using multi-stage cluster method based on Morgan’s table. To collect data, two questionnaires were implemented namely as: SOCIAL COMPETENCE and McMaster’s family measurement. Data analysis indicated that there was a significant relationship between overall FAMILY FUNCTION and SOCIAL COMPETENCE. There was relationship between positive attitude on the assigned roles and SOCIAL COMPETENCE and also between emotional assimilation within family and SOCIAL COMPETENCE. It can be concluded that if FAMILY FUNCTION is improved, SOCIAL COMPETENCE and its variable will increase accordingly.
