THE RELATIONSHIP BETWEEN SPIRITUAL INTELLIGENCE AND CONFLICT MANAGEMENT WITH WORK-FAMILY CONFLICT AMONG MARRIED DUAL-CAREER STAFF OF ISLAMIC AZAD UNIVERSITY

Abstract

 The aim of this research was to determine the relationship between SPIRITUAL INTELLIGENCE and CONFLICT MANAGEMENT with work - family conflict among married dual-earner staff of Islamic Azad University. The method of research was correlational. Using random cluster sampling, 109 married staff members whose wives were also employed were selected. Data were gathered using SPIRITUAL INTELLIGENCE questionnaire (Abdollahzade and et al), Robin’s CONFLICT MANAGEMENT questionnaire, and Netmayer work-family scale. Data were analyzed using Pearson correlation coefficient, and stepwise regression analysis. The results showed that there was negative and significant relationship between SPIRITUAL INTELLIGENCE and work-family conflict (p<0.05). There was positive and significant relationship between avoidance strategy of CONFLICT MANAGEMENT and negative and significant relationship between problems solving strategy of conflict ant work-family. But there was no significant relationship between control strategies of CONFLICT MANAGEMENT and work-family. Also the result of regression analysis showed that about 31percent of work-family variance was explained by SPIRITUAL INTELLIGENCE, problem solving strategy and avoidance strategy of CONFLICT MANAGEMENT.
