Abstract

In the field of education, motivational factors are major indexes and effective variables in success and academic achievement. The aim of this study was to investigate the relationship between ACHIEVEMENT MOTIVATION and variables of SOCIAL ACCEPTANCE, FAMILY INCOME, EDUCATION COSTS, tuition and age in all students of Islamic Azad University, Abhar Branch, enrolled in 1387-88 academic year. Data were collected through Hermence’s ACHIEVEMENT MOTIVATION Questionnaire, Crown & Marlow’s SOCIAL ACCEPTANCE Questionnaire and the demographic form. Correlation results showed significant negative relationship between ACHIEVEMENT MOTIVATION, FAMILY INCOME, EDUCATION COSTS, and age; significant positive relationship was also observed between ACHIEVEMENT MOTIVATION and tuition. Regression analysis revealed that SOCIAL ACCEPTANCE, FAMILY INCOME, EDUCATION COSTS, and age could explain 37% of variance in ACHIEVEMENT MOTIVATION.
