Abstract

Background & Aims: Beta thalassemia is the most common genetic diseases in Iran, more than two million carriers of BETA-THALASSEMIA in Iran. During pregnancy, women with thalassemia often significant anemia show that the highest rate of anemia in the middle of the second quarter and early third quarter can be seen.Material & Methods: To evaluate maternal neonatal ANTHROPOMETRIC INDEXES with beta thalassemia com Materials and Methods: This retrospective study and research through birth records in the archive hospitals in Tehran. In this study, 800 samples matched in terms of age, body mass index, number of births, stillbirths and abortions studied which included 400 cases and 400 healthy women as a control group of file-postpartum women Mark has beta thalassemia cases (from 1388 onwards), respectively.Data was analyzed by SPSS software pared to healthy women with them Results: The average birth weight of 8.2 kg group and 2.3 kg in the control group, the mean length of the newborns in the study group and the control group 6/48 cm 8/49 cm, 34 cm average head circumference of infants in the study group Mtr and 5.34 cm in the control group respectively. The weight, height and head circumference of babies born to women with thalassemia minor have been less than the control group.Conclusions: In this study, 400 healthy women and 400 case records of patients with BETA-THALASSEMIA trait was investigated. Significant differences in anthropometric indices MOTHERs with beta thalassemia compared to healthy women there with them (P<0.001).
