Abstract

FINANCIAL DEEPENING is considered as one of the preconditions to the ECONOMIC GROWTH of the countries so that those nations of less depth in the financial sectors undoubtedly lack the efficient allocation of the funds to the needs and often come to inadequacy of tools of funding. So, they would not be able to collect enough resources. In this study, first we present all aspect of the comprehensive development and FINANCIAL DEEPENING in the country. Then an economic analysis is presented to study the relationship between FINANCIAL DEEPENING and ECONOMIC GROWTH in Iran from 1969 to 2007, by the use of ARDL methods. The results show the positive effect of FINANCIAL DEEPENING and the negative effect of FINANCIAL DEVELOPMENT on ECONOMIC GROWTH. In the proposed model, Capital market show a crucial role in the economic development and growth in Iran while the negative effects can be due to the linearization method of financial markets.
