Abstract

In order to study the mass generation of the vector fields in the framework of a conformal invariant gravitational model, the WEYL-DIRAC THEORY is considered. The principal role of the photon mass in connecting the conformal and GAUGE INVARIANCE in this theory is discussed. A conformal and GAUGE INVARIANCE breaking is introduced as a cosmological effect. This leads to the specification of a preferred conformal frame in terms of the large-scale characteristics of the observed universe. In this frame the photon mass can be estimated. It should be emphasized that this article is different from our previous work. Here we merely estimate the photon mass and subsequently the parameter responsible for the coupling of the conformal and GAUGE INVARIANCE of the theory. In this approach this estimations beautifully can be obtained without speculating an exact solution of all our model parameters
