Abstract

According to the importance and necessity of psychological factors in career and professional activities and for evaluate the relationship between MORAL DISTRESS and BURNOUT and MENTAL HEALTH in nurses 300 female nurses working in public and private hospitals in Yazd, Completed survey questionnaires. The result showed that the nurses' MORAL DISTRESS in private hospitals is higher (P>0.01) and nurses' BURNOUT in public hospitals is more (P>0.01). There is not relationship among nurses' MORAL DISTRESS and BURNOUT but there is a significant positive relationship between MORAL DISTRESS and self-esteem and their MENTAL HEALTH (P>0.01), also there is a significant positive relationship between nurses' dimensions of BURNOUT and dimensions MENTAL HEALTH (P>0.01); also emotional and psychological BURNOUT dimension is effective in nurses' MENTAL HEALTH(P>0.01); According to the results obtained It is suggested that hospital administrators creates support systems to detect and prevent environment increasing nurses' MORAL DISTRESS and BURNOUT and reduce nurses' MENTAL HEALTH.
