Abstract

This research has been designed to approach a proper IRRIGATION method for green space development and gardens expansion in DESERT AREAS. The area has desert soils with heavy texture and high salinity on surface. Climate is cold arid, mean annual precipitation and evaporation are 62 mm and 3500mm respectively. In these project four main treatments of pitcher IRRIGATION, 10 cm diameter trickle tube, 15 cm diameter trickle tube and drip trickle IRRIGATION with four secondary treatments of Pinus eldarica, Fraxinus excelsior, Pistacia vera and Punica granata species were carried out. There were determined the growth rate and amount of water consumed in each IRRIGATION methods. The results showed the IRRIGATION methods at 5% (P<0.05) and kinds of plants at 1% (P< 0.01) have significant difference. Comparative results between averages of height and canopy diameter indicated the superiority of 10 cm-diameter trickle tubes IRRIGATION. Among the secondary treatment, Punica granata, Pinus eldarica and Fraxinus excelsior gained mentioned method. Pistacia vera had maximum growth with 15 cm diameter trickle tubes IRRIGATION, but there was no significant difference with 10 cm diameter trickle tubes IRRIGATION method (p<0.05).
