Abstract

The road transportation system is responsible for goods and passenger transfer. One of the main problems in goods transportation section is the increasing consumption of gasoil. So due to the high consumption each year, the government has to allocate specific budget to import gasoil. This thesis assesses the cost-benefit of elder heavyduty vehicle replacement with new vehicles in three different scenarios from the government’s point of view. The scenarios investigate the replacement of old heavy duty vehicles with domestic products, imported vehicles and the combination of domestic products and imported vehicles respectively for a period of five years. According to the overall results, it is understood that from the government's, view replacement of older trucks with domestic and imported products is suitable.
