Title

THE STUDY OF A ROAD ACCIDENT FROM VIEW POINT OF MULTIFACTOR THEORY

Pages

  81-93

Abstract

Multiple Causation Theory expresses the different factors can be effective in ACCIDENT. Each cause is itself the result of some other causes and interaction of these factors can cause an ACCIDENTs. The interactions of factors in the black spot are most common. The high number of ACCIDENTs that have occurred at the bridge is considered as a black spots area. Due to inappropriate and nonalignment of geometric design of road with bridge, bridges are black spot. So considering second factors to make safety such as signs, guardrails, to reduce the risk factors and its consequences is inevitable. An ACCIDENT occurred at the bridge in the road of Shiraz - Kazroon and a bus was overturned and 14 people were killed. In this paper the factors that led to the ACCIDENT, has been studied. Studying the occurrence of such events is important because these events can be repeated in different forms in different situations and led to horrible consequences. So considering to risk is inevitable. If one or more factors can be removed, Combination of factors may prevent and reduce the formation of the next event. If one factors causes the ACCIDENT to be removed or eliminated, prevention of ACCIDENTs or reduction the consequences will be provided.
