INVESTIGATING THE RELATIONSHIP BETWEEN THE MANAGERS' DECISION-MAKING METHODS AND ORGANIZATIONAL HEALTH OF SECOND-DEGREE HIGH-SCHOOLS IN BOJNURD

Abstract

 Background: decision-making compose the origin and basis of management tasks and a manager's skill can be seen in decision-making, self-efficiency of the tasks and the quality of the services presented by him. Objective: the aim of this research is to investigate the relationship between the managers' decision-making methods and ORGANIZATIONAL HEALTH of second-degree high-schools in Bojnurd. Methods: A descriptive-survey correlational methodology was used to conduct the research and of a total of 383 teachers in second-grade female high-school in Bojnurd, 191 teachers were selected randomly according to Krejici-Morgan Table using a startled random method and the research tools was a researcher-made questionnaire regarding the ORGANIZATIONAL HEALTH index (OHI) by Hoy et al. (1998). The research data were analyzed via SPSS (21) software and using Pearson correlation and multiple regression.Findings: among the methods of decision-making available for the managers, the PARTICIPATIVE DECISION-MAKING METHOD has a higher effect coefficient (0.986) on the ORGANIZATIONAL HEALTH of the schools, and the decision-making methods predict 71% of the ORGANIZATIONAL HEALTH. The ORGANIZATIONAL HEALTH in these schools was 116.92, which is higher than the average level. Conclusion: in order to be able to have a healthy, supportive, high-spirit and trustful atmosphere in the organization, the manager's PARTICIPATIVE DECISION-MAKING METHODs play an important role in increasing the effectiveness of these decisions
