Abstract

This experimental study aimed to assess the effectiveness of LIFE ENRICHMENT AND ADVANCEMENT PROGRAM on ACHIEVEMENT MOTIVATION of girls with addicted fathers. The population consisted of all high school girls (342) with opium addict fathers who referred to detoxification clinics in Rafsanjan. The sample size in this study was 54 subjects, randomly selected from among the population. The subjects completed the ACHIEVEMENT MOTIVATION Questionnaire (ACTM) in pretest and then randomly were divided into two groups of 27. Six sessions (1.5 hour per week) curriculum-based on life, enrichment and advancement program was performed on the test group and one week after the last session, the test was given to both groups. The data were analyzed with covariance and t-test. The comparison of the results in the first place indicated a significant difference in ACHIEVEMENT MOTIVATION score in addict father and non-addict father groups. The review and comparison of the results of the two phases indicated a significant difference between Pre and Post tests and the mean score of Post test was higher than the Pre test and the control group. LIFE ENRICHMENT AND ADVANCEMENT PROGRAM has a positive effect on ACHIEVEMENT MOTIVATION score. The study of family dysfunction and psychological issues involved with addicts is very important, especially for girls who are the future mothers and will train the next generation of the community. This issue has not been given much attention so far.
