Abstract

The aim of the current study was to compare LIFE SATISFACTION between the athlete and non-athlete students according to GENDER. The statistical population consisted of all the students of Islamic Azad University, Shabestar Branch. Among them 55 ATHLETES (30 male & 25 female) and 55 non-ATHLETES (30 male & 25 female) were selected. The ATHLETES were those who had worked continuously under a coach at least during the past year in one field of sports. The data were collected using Satisfaction with Life Scale (SWLS) and were analyzed through t-test. The results show that there is a significant difference in LIFE SATISFACTION between ATHLETES and non-ATHLETES. In other words, ATHLETES have satisfaction with life more than non-ATHLETES. But there was not a significant difference in LIFE SATISFACTION between men and women.
