Abstract

The purpose of the present research is the analysis of the role of PARENTS’ DEMOGRAPHIC CHARACTERISTICS in CHILDREN's PSYCHOPATHOLOGY based on a group of 12- to 14- year- old female students who live in Tabriz (northwest of Iran), during 2008-2009 academic year. The studied sample size included 380 students and their PARENTS. The data for this study were obtained from the researcher devised demographic questionnaire and CHILDREN's pathological symptoms (CSI-4) questionnaire. The results showed that there is a significant positive relation between the father’s age and the child’s hyper-activity and PSYCHOPATHOLOGY. There is a significant positive relation between the mother’s job and the child’s hyper-activity, pervasive developmental disorder, psycho pathology, obstinate and oppositional defiance.
