Abstract

Any country regarding its natural resources has comparative advantages in some products, making them more beneficial. Transforming these potential comparative advantages to a final product depends on several factors namely qualified universities for producing technical knowledge, an efficient industry and governmental support in all possible forms including Research Park. Recently, considerable improvement has occurred in the HIGH VOLTAGE SUBSTATIONS industry in Iran. So that other than satisfying the intramural consumption of the country, some foreign countries have benefited the technical services of Iranian companies in this field. This paper focuses on the educational and research deficiencies in the instructional institutions in the field of HV substations in Iran. The comparative advantage of this field is investigated in Iran.
