Abstract

Contemporary society of Iran is in transition stage from ancient views to modern ideas. In process of changing the life style, phenomenon of POLITICAL PARTICIPATION means opportunity for a lot of citizens to engage in politics. In modern societies, the MEDIA is primarily considered as the fourth pillar, a pillar that is associated with both public and governments. The role of the MEDIA in participation makes sense here. What empowers MEDIA is its ability to shape public opinion to support or on the contrary to the governments. Therefore, it can be stated that MEDIA is a main interMEDIAry among the policy makers and the population.The research hypothesis is that there is a relationship between MEDIA and POLITICAL PARTICIPATION in view of the voters. The research method is descriptive-survey and the tie between the variables is correlation which has been performed by using questionnaire. Statistical populations are instructors of Islamic Azad University of Saveh who are 100 persons. The results have indicated that there is a strong significant relationship between MEDIA and POLITICAL PARTICIPATION in view of the voters.
