Abstract

No doubt tourism industry is an industry that is growing rapidly. NATURE-BASED TOURISM as an alternative to urban tourism has achieved special attention in different countries and governments have realized its value and invested heavily on it. A look at different INTERNATIONAL CONFERENCES during the last three decades indicates this fact that NATURE-BASED TOURISM development and planning has been growing rapidly. Thus, the present study is aimed at providing a description of the above-mentioned growth and giving a clear picture of the importance and the findings from the INTERNATIONAL CONFERENCES so that it can analyze their influencing effects. The research method used is a descriptive-analytical one. In the descriptive part the INTERNATIONAL CONFERENCES related to ecotourism is mentioned. Next, the outputs of these INTERNATIONAL CONFERENCES and their consequences are analyzed. Our findings indicate that before holding such systematic INTERNATIONAL CONFERENCES on tourism and NATURE-BASED TOURISM there was a slow growth in tourism. But in the last three decades during which the United Nations has paid special attention to the management of such conferences, these tourism conferences has grown so fast that not only such conferences has gained attention internationally, but also different national, regional and local conferences and workshops have been hold that result in an increasing understanding and sensitivity to preserving ECOSYSTEM and environment and various activities are being done in this regard.
