Abstract

Rural tourism is a very complex activity which has common aspects with other sectors of community and has different effects and consequences that must be considered in the planning process in order to reduce its negative effects and increase its positive effects in the economic, social and cultural dimensions. Thus, the main purpose of this survey was to evaluate the negative effects of TOURISM DEVELOPMENT in ABYANEH VILLAGE in Isfahan Province by using the FACTOR ANALYSIS MODEL. The research method of the study was an analytical-explanatory one. The statistical population of the study consisted of all the heads of households in ABYANEH VILLAGE (N=160). Using the Krejcie and Morgan table, 110 persons were randomly sampled from the population (n=110). A questionnaire was used to collect the data. A panel of experts confirmed the validity of the questionnaire. A pilot study was conducted to establish the reliability of the instrument. Cronbach alpha's coefficient for the scale of “importance of negative effects of TOURISM DEVELOPMENT in ABYANEH VILLAGE” was 0.83. The collected data were then analyzed using the SPSS software. The result of the factor analysis revealed that four factors social-cultural, economic-ecological, physical-sanitary and environmental explained 65.42 percent of the total variances of negative effects of TOURISM DEVELOPMENT in ABYANEH VILLAGE.
