Pages

  123-146

Abstract

Aristotle & Avicenna were belief to the substantiality of Soul and studied the term of soul in physiology. But we asking the propos of them were similar or not? Aristotle was said tree meaning for essence (Ousia): mater‚ form‚ and the thing make of the both of its. It means that the material essence & formal essence & substantive essence that make of the two things. He was said the substantive essences are preferred to essentiality in this term. Aristotle viewpoint about soul & body & the things are based on the mater & form. But he said the movement & nourishment & specter & intellect which are kinds of the life‚ were the soul function because to clear the soul is different from the other forms. He was belief the soul necessarily is essence‚ of course in this means that it is as form for thing which have potentially live. But in Avicenna’s belief the soul isn’t inside the body and so the essentiality of it isn’t as essentiality of form. Indeed he was discussing about dependency relation stead on internal relation. Of course he sometimes was known the soul as separate form and sometimes as immaterial essence & member of the separated essence.
