Abstract

PRAYER is the most beautiful aspect of praise which has been gifted to mankind in the form of commands from the Lord and by his messenger. For its importance it is enough to say that it is accounted for the Islamic justice in the narratives and its abandoner is the hell seeker, based on the language of the Quran. In RUMI's viewpoint, PRAYER is not merely an action, rather a way to connect the human to the Lord and the heaven. True PRAYER has preliminaries and the worshiper should observe them in outward and inward aspects. The real PRAYER is bi-leveled, so the PRAYER of the commons is different from the lovers'. The reality of PRAYER is whisper to the Lord, its beginning is with the knowledge, its standing up (is) with modesty, its doing (is) with bowing down, its ending up (is) with awe, and its ultimate (is) giving up all except God and being drowned in the sea of intuition of God. When someone is praying, his standing in front of God is a symbol of presence beside the Lord in the resurrection and each of his customs and gestures is a sign of dialogue with God in the resurrection.
