Abstract

Today, tourism is one of the main sources of income, employment and infrastructure to achieve sustainable development. BISETOON area in Kermanshah Province is one of the most beautiful that in spite of the lack of tourism facilities and is convenient for tourists. Because of the necessity for proper planning in the field of tourism capabilities and limitations of the region, in this study we have examined the capabilities and limitations of tourism development. We also identify and provide guidance and strategies for developing ECOTOURISM in the region. The methodology of this research was based on descriptive-analytical methods. For data collection, library research, documentation and field studies such as interviews and questionnaires have been used. Then, the SWOT analysis matrix was used for data analysis and presentation of ECOTOURISM and GEOTOURISM development strategies in the BISETOON area. Research findings indicate that, in the context of ECOTOURISM and GEOTOURISM, this area has a high potential capacity. The Gamasiab River, BISETOON springhead, Nuzhyvran springhead and also the beautiful landscape of the region are some of the most strengths of this area. But still remains the shortage of advertising, the absence of the residential places, and the shortage of the infrastructure and welfare facilities.
