Abstract

The increasing level of urbanization has created many different socio-economic problems in developing countries. Attention toward the SECURITY of citizens and their promotion became as one of the essential priorities for professional and scholars. Identifying and analyzing criteria is very different in city zone and changing with respect to physical, functional and environmental components. The city of SHIRAZ faced socio-economic and physical transformation due to substantial migration from eastern and southern provinces which consequently influenced the SECURITY of different regions of the city. The aim of this research is to analysis the PHYSICAL CRITERIA of PUBLIC SPACES in SHIRAZ regarding to SECURITY FEELING in the different parts. The methodology of the research is based on descriptive-analytical approaches and a random sampling method was applied to the statistical society of 608810. Cochran was used to obtain the number of sample which is 384 people. The data were processed using SPSS and F-Test was applied to analyze the difference between depended arid independent variables. The results revealed that the level of SECURITY FEELING was higher in low income areas (12.74) compared to the middle and higher income parts of the city (11.56 and 12.42 respectively). With regard to the presented data in different parts of the city, the observed means about SECURITY FEELING confirmed the difference level in the regions of SHIRAZ with low variation.
