OLD IRANIAN HU-IN IRANIAN DIALECTS

Abstract

 Old Iranian (OIr.) hu-has developed in IRANIAN DIALECTS in different form. This paper deals with development of OIr. hu- in  Iranian and West middle Iranian languages, the development of this cluster is described in New Northwestern and Southwestern IRANIAN DIALECTS. OIr. hu-has changed in five form xw-, x-, h-, w- and f- in IRANIAN DIALECTS. And these changes can be classified in two groups: 1. hu->xw->x->h-2. hu-> wh-> w->f-. NORTHWESTERN DIALECTS show both changes groups, and show all of five developments, whereas SOUTHWESTERN DIALECTS show more similarity, and all of them have developed in first way. At the end of this paper IRANIAN DIALECTS are classified according to this cluster change.
