Abstract

Purpose: This study seeks to extract a scheme of science classification in Iranian ancient texts.Methodology: A historical approach, in resources and existing documents.Findings: Iranians have a bright scientific background, but many of their scientific resources was destroyed over the time. The Iranian BUNDAHISH is one of the most important sources from ancient Iranian, that has a classification scheme of sciences which has more realistic and pragmatic aspect than philosophically; that understandable with a comprehensive view. As the first taxonomic scheme was presented in this book.Conclusion: These sciences classification scheme can be extract according to the threefold presupposition contained in this paper. Because this is a realistic and pragmatic scheme, instead of considering the totality of the science the second layer of the classification scheme and the dimensions of each science field considered.
