Abstract

This article introduces MarcEdit/fa?page=1&sort=1&ftyp=all&fgrp=all&fyrs=all" target="_blank">MarcEdit software. MarcEdit/fa?page=1&sort=1&ftyp=all&fgrp=all&fyrs=all" target="_blank">MarcEdit is a Metadata editing software suite used primarily to create and manipulate Marc records. Originally developed by Terry Reese in 1999 for a major database cleanup project at Oregon State University. MarcEdit/fa?page=1&sort=1&ftyp=all&fgrp=all&fyrs=all" target="_blank">MarcEdit is a Metadata editor: a suite of tools designed around the specific types of Metadata currently in use by libraries. The tool has grown to include the capacity to create, edit, and transform much of the non-Marc Metadata used by libraries. This article attempts to show some of the important features of this software.
