EFFECT OF SHORT TERM NANO SELENIUM SUPPLEMENTATION AND EXHAUSTED TRAINING IN OXIDATION INDICES ON HEART TISSUE OF MALE RATS

Abstract

 Thirty-six male wistar rats aged two months (200±8 g), were randomly divided into four groups: 1- control (12 rats), 2- NANO SELENIUM (12 rats), 3- training (six rats) and 4- NANO SELENIUM+training (six rats). Then, they were supplemented with NANO SELENIUM for 14 days (0.1 mg/kg/day) by Intraperitoneal injection. Six samples of HEART TISSUE from groups of one and two during their resting time were collected.After two months training for groups three and four, second tissue samples were collected from all groups (in the two training groups immediately after last training session and in the other two groups during their resting time). Independent T test (P˂0.05) with SPSS21 software were used, in order to find differences in GPX, SOD, MDA and TAC between groups. First T test from first samples showed significant increase in GPX and TAC in the group two without no difference in MDA and SOD compared to the group one. Another T test between groups of one and two from second sampling indicated that, there is a significant increase in TAC in the group two compared to group one, but there were not any significant differences in other indices. The last T test from second sampling groups of three and four showed, there was a significant decrease in MDA and significant increase in GPX and TAC in group four compared to the group three, but There was not any significant difference in SOD between groups. Then short time supplementation of NANO SELENIUM reduced the OXIDATIVE STRESS produced by exhausted exercise and consequently antioxidant system was amplified.
