Abstract

Nowadays, almost everything is dealing with SOCIAL MEDIA. If you are on social networks, content communities, micro - blogs, wikis and instant messengers, you would not be a part of cyberspace. SOCIAL MEDIA allows companies with limited budget to be in touch with users at the right time, directly and immediately. This situation makes SOCIAL MEDIA to not only be useful for many multinational corporations around the world but also for small and medium-sized companies and even governmental and non-profit companies. The use of this mean s of communication is not a simple activity but new modes of thought are required. This article tries to clarify in this area. This article begins with defining the concept of SOCIAL MEDIA, the characteristics of these new technologies, and also presenting an assortment of SOCIAL MEDIA in form of seven blocks (identity, dialogue, sharing, presence, relationships, reputation, and group). And finally investigate the challenges and opportunities created by the increasing use of SOCIAL MEDIA.
